The Records Department Lobby is currently CLOSED until further notice. If you need to obtain a copy of a police report that you have already made, Submit A Foia Request by mail, to Benton Charter Township Police Department, 1725 Territorial Road, Benton Harbor, MI 49022, fax at 269-926-9533, or by emailing the FOIA coordinator via email: email@example.com.

The Benton Charter Township Police Records Department is located at the front southwest lobby door on Territorial Road. To make a police report or see an officer in person, use the outside call button located on the brick wall next to the front southwest door or call Berrien County Central Dispatch at 269-926-2638. Any message for the records department after hours can be left through the telephone system, extension #4, and will be forwarded to the records office the following morning.
Reports of incidents, other than traffic crashes that happen on a public road, will require a request under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA); FOIA request forms can be accessed on-line; see links below for email or by mail. If requester wants the information mailed to them, the request will be completed when payment is received (if applicable). Any requests for reports that are currently open or active investigations may or may not be immediately available, depending on the nature of the complaint (i.e. open pending trial, etc). Freedom of Information Requests (FOIA) that take less than 15 minutes to complete will be done free of charge. Any FOIA requests that exceed 15 minutes to complete will be itemized per the statute and a representative from the records department will have to notify you of the costs affiliated with such a FOIA request.
